Never in my life have I experienced that kind of behavior on blm land with pay to dig owners land near by area I would explore. Parks with person inside sitting staring at me. Then later that day the same vehicle 4x4 which is like a covered 4 wheeler. Then a person walks about 20 yards from my vehicle to check it out. Then a pickup truck from mine checks my vehicle out.
3 times 1st day, 2nd day 2 times same vehicle drives past my car 1st time 8 am. Then a second vehicle comes rushing in checking out me and my car. 1st day there people in truck come driving up pretending to look for topaz. No bugs, less people and heat won't get to me. For me winter time is perfect time to go to dessert area. No clear boundaries of their claim other than some maps at blm that you can buy. They have a 40 acre claim as far as I know. So this claim is small dab in center of any entrance of the Amphitheater section.
When I can get the same chance outside of pay to dig areas. Not a fan of paying money for a chance to find a good gemstone.
